Fresh Breath Month

Hey Beauties !

I'm sure we all know that February is commonly known as the month of love. Along with the month of love , February is also National Fresh Breath month. 

Did you know that when it comes to bad breath , your tongue could usually be the main culprit . It is recommended that tongue scrapping should be part of a regular oral care routine. 

In some cultures, cleaning the tongue has been a tradition since ancient times. For centuries, Indian Ayurvedic medicine has recommended daily scraping for mental, physical and spiritual well-being. More recently research has shown that cleaning the tongue improves breath odour and the sense of taste.

My friends at Ivohealth , Sunstar Gum kindly sent me some goodies to share with you all on how to keep the breath in tact. Below are the products I have been sent. If you would like to know more information based on these products , feel free to check out my previous blog posts about them.

How to clean your tongue

1.     Ideally use a tool specially designed for cleaning the tongue like the Sunstar GUM Tongue Cleaner. If you don’t have one, use your toothbrush or a metal teaspoon turned upside down.

2.     Clean your tongue each time your brush your teeth (twice a day) especially if you smoke or suffer from post-nasal drip.

3.     Gently scrape from as far back as you can without gagging, to the front of the tongue. Breathing out as your clean the back of the tongue helps prevent gagging.

4.     Rinse the tool between each swipe.

5.     Gargle with water or an alcohol-free mouthwash (like Sunstar GUM Original White or Dentyl Active). 

6.     Clean the tongue before or after brushing and flossing - whichever you prefer. Cleaning the tongue at night can help prevent ‘morning breath’.

7.     For extra freshness use a small amount of toothpaste and gently brush the tongue before cleaning.

The Sunstar GUM Tongue Cleaner cleverly has two edges – one with soft bristles to gently brush the tongue and one with a serrated edge to wipe clean. Here’s how to use it most effectively:

1.     Softly brush your tongue using the bristles edge. Use a small amount of toothpaste for extra freshness.

2.     Use the serrated edge to gentle scrape the tongue from the far back to front.

3.     Start as far back as you can without gagging.

4.     After each swipe rinse the Tongue Cleaner under running water. 

5.     For extra fresh breath confidence complete your oral care routine by rinsing and gargling with alcohol-free Dentyl Active mouthwash.

Floss like a boss with Sunstar gum

I have gathered up information below on how to floss correctly and a short review of the Sunstar gum floss products available

.How to Floss Like a Boss

1.     Take about 30cm of floss

2.     Wind the floss around your middle fingers

3.     Hold it floss between thumbs and index fingers

4.     Slide the floss in-between teeth using a gentle back-and-forth sawing action

5.     Fold floss around the side of a tooth in a C-shape

6.     Slide the floss up and down, against tooth and just under the gum line

7.     Repeat on the neighbouring tooth

8.     Pull out and repeat using a clean section of the floss

Gum original white floss ( R51)
Helps remove stains and plaque from between the teeth

This is a great standard floss if you have plague that  needs to be removed. It works on all teeth types and is extremely gentle on gums. The floss has strength and does not easily break when in contact with the teeth.



Gum Expanding floss ( R55)
Ideal if you have small gaps in between your teeth , sensitive or receding gums. This is easy to insert , even between the tightest contacts , and expands during use , for an exceptional clean.

This by far has to be my favorite floss out of all. The above description is exactly what my teeth are like. This product is true to its promise and gets into the most tiniest gaps leaving them spotless clean!. I highly recommend this to everyone. You won't regret it.

Gum Easy Flossers( R50)
Great for adults and children , with an easy grip to handle.

Are you always on the go and in a rush? Yes? Then this is the product for you. With it's travel size container you can have this product on the go all day long. It has a perfect tooth pick end which would also aid in helping you out when you got a nasty bugger up in your teeth. It's an amazing product indeed. 


Gum Soft-Picks Advanced (R89)

Disposable dental picks with soft rubber bristles that gently massage and stimulate gums. Ideal for adults and children.

With the price you pay for this product , you definitely get quality and quantity . It's easy to use and is extremely gentle for teeth. If you have gaps inbetween your teeth this product is more ideal for you in my opinion . This product is perfect for cleansing gums and giving you overall oral hygiene.

Gum Trav-lers (R101)
Tiny inter-dental brushes , ideal for normal teeth , big gaps and around crowns , bridges , implants or orthodontics.

This product is simple and easy to use . It helps remove dental plague from areas which are mostly used from using a tooth brush alone.This is also a useful item on a daily basis. It's flexibility reaches to every area possible and this product is super convenience overall .

Healing earth | Products review

Hello beauties!

It's winter. You know what that means? Dryness. Dryness everywhere!. If you like me then you know the struggle of dry skin .

Healing Earth kindly sent me some goodies to review for you guys that will help in this weather.

Healing ocean hand & body wash.

You know those busy days when you come home from work/school and you feel as if you're in a mess? . yes i have those days too. Using this product after a hectic day really calms down my mind with its marvelous scent. This body wash smells very earthy and i love it. It lathers up pretty well and surprisingly it's very moisturizing aswell. The packaging is the bom.com! Its super adorable and the quote leaves me in awe everytime. I love the dispenser too as u pump out exactly how much you need and its not waste prone. The product contains ingredients such as argan oil ,jojoba oil , lavender oil and much more! Your body will thank you after using this.

Next up to the soothing rewinding bath is the healing ocean -ocean crystals.

This product is your body washes  wing man. These two work perfectly together. It helps soothe ached muscles and overall calm your mind and provide you with relaxation . It has a pleasant spa-type scent and its packaging yet again is amazing.

The best for last is none other then the healing earth softening grape foot oil.

If you have dry feet this product is a must have. I've always had dry feet and I've tried many things to help with it in the past such as pedirelax , vaseline wrapped in glad wrap but nothing seemed to give me relief. This product however was instantly drank up by my heels and it stayed soft for around 2 days. I highly recommend this oil to everyone seeking softer feet. Healing earth yet again outdone it with the packing. The dispenser is amazing to handle the amount of product you going to use.

Overall this brand highly impressed me and my expectations. I really recommend you give them a try. I can guarantee you it would be worth it.

I was sent  8 products to help me achieve  perfect pearly white teeth and here is my reviews on the products.

 

Step 1: Brush

My thoughts on the product:
This by far , has been the best toothbrush I've ever used . I love the size - it's so flexible and gets the work done!. All my life I've always used larger brushes and it was always tough brushing in circular motion as instructed by dentists. I also adore the fact that it comes with a cover-keeps the germs away!.

My thoughts on the product :
Lights,camera,action. Do you want pearly white teeth that would be fit for a Hollywood close up scene?then I think this product is for you. It helps to whiten and brighten teeth , leaving them healthy and fresh. A little amount goes along way and it tastes really refreshing.

STEP 2: CLEAN IN-BETWEEN

 My thoughts on the product :
I think this product is fabulous for getting in between your gums. I love the quality of it- the floss is not fragile at all and it does what it claims to do.

My thoughts on the product :
This product is fantastic for people like me who loves food but always get food stuck in between my teeth while I'm out and about with friends. Its easy to use and convenient with it's travel size case that comes with the floss. It's a handy dandy heaven! I always have this in my handbag - love it to bits!.


GUM Soft-Picks Advanced (R89)

GUM Flosbrush Automatic (R104)

This nifty gadget automatically dispenses a measure of shred-resistant floss on an ergonomically designed handle. The used floss is stored in a chamber within the handle, completely separate from the clean floss. The GUM Flosbrush Automatic contains enough floss for 250 uses.

 My thoughts on the product :
By far , this is my most favourite oral care product. I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT - it's versatile , convenient and easy to use. With the regular floss you may injure your fingers by wrapping the floss around too hard , but with this product your hands will thank you!. This is my holy grail item and I think I'm going to forever repurchase it. You get rid of the nasty floss by just a scroll!If you were to purchase anything that I mentioned today , I highly recommend you to try this one out first. You won't be disappointed .

STEP 3 : CLEAN YOUR TONGUE

  GUM Tongue Cleaner (recommended retail price R51.35)

GUM Dual Action Tongue Cleaner efficiently removes dental plaque, food debris, and dead cells from the surface of the tongue. One side of the tongue cleaner consists of two rows of bristles that reach into the tiny folds and crevices on the tongue surface to dislodge the dental plaque and debris. The other side of the cleaner consists of two rows of scrapers that remove the loosened plaque and debris for thorough cleaning

My thoughts on the product :
I totally adore the fact that Sunstar Gum came out with a brush for your tongue . This was the first time I've came across something like this and I was impressed. It does exactly what it claims to do. It leaves my tongue fresh , clean and it's so gentle on my tongue- which I love!

STEP 4 : RINSE

 My thoughts on the product :
This makes my breath super fresh at the end of my routine. It has a pleasant taste and has no alcohol which as a muslim , I really appreciate . My teeth feel smoother after a rinse with this- it gives me a reason to smile!





Overall I'm highly impressed with this range and I highly recommend anyone wanting healthier , whiter and fresher teeth to give it a try. What my thoughts of this product is: 

 I personally love the new design of it!. It's the perfect size to throw in my handbag and keep with me while i'm on the go. It comes with a travel-friendly case which holds approximately 10 picks at a time. I find the case to be extremely convenient to use.The pack contains 30 picks and it's made out of rubber. I love the fact that it's made out of rubber as my gums get pretty sensitive and the rubber makes it easy to use. The product precisely gets into the unreachable parts in my mouth which removes all the dirt. The product is very  bendable which makes application a walk in the park. The only thing I dislike about this is the fact that the travel case can only hold 10 picks and not all of them but I guess I can deal with that.I overall highly recommend this for anyone to try out. You certainly won't be disappointed . It retails for around R89.95 at Dischem and other lead pharmacies. 

Hean Cosmetics

Hello Beauties !

So quite a while ago I received some goodies from a brand called Hean. This post is long over due but due to personal issues I could not write it in time but nonetheless , here I am introducing to you 4 products .

Lets start off by saying how adorable is the packaging?! It came along with a personalized card aswell- totally adorable!

This beautiful lipstick leaves my lips looking natural yet very luscious!. Personally , i'm a person that prefers make-up that's light and not all bold and I can happily say that this shade fits my favorite lipstick category . Im simply inlove with it!

Hean Lipgloss in nr 154 R80-00(Full Size)

Next in the lip product line we have the Hean Lip gloss which i'm head over heels about . Its perfect for layering on top of lipstick and is also great when using it own its own. I adore the strawberry scent that this lip gloss holds!

This is something I would repurchase

Hean MakeUp Base

Matte , Complete & Flawless skin is the result I get when ever i use this make-up base!. Personally I had a terrible experience with my first ever make-up base and after that experience I never really bothered about make-up base .. Upon trying out this product , just one question kept pondering in my head "where have this been all my life?" . 

A little heads up: This product surely goes a long way so use about a pea size for your entire face. 

This is something I would repurchase

Hean Ultra Hydration Moisturizer

Truth to be told - when I saw this product in the package I was a bit terrified on using it on my acne-prone skin as it reacts to almost everything . Yes i said "almost" because luckily this moisturizer never reacted with my skin but instead it done its job perfectly!

Overall im extremely impressed by this brand and i would highly recommend you check them out here .
